Unfortunately, I was not able to listen to inaugural address live, but I did get a transcript off the internet. Here are a few of my comments after a quick first review:
OBAMA: “On this day, we come together to proclaim an end to the petty grievances and false promises…”
Huh? Nothing more than a bunch of buzz words that mean he’ll increase your taxes and give a portion of it to the NSF and NIH. “Technology’s wonders?” What is he talking about?
The last time I checked, none of those things are the responsibility of the Federal government! The Constitution outlines the powers and responsibilities of the federal government, and none of those are there! I don't want the government to find me my next job. He’s talking about socialism, plain and simple. This is what we voted for. Hope you guys like living in
OBAMA: “The nation cannot prosper long when it favors only the prosperous.”
Once again, he’s talking about wealth distribution and guised socialism.
OBAMA: “The success of our economy has always depended not just on the size of our gross domestic product, but on the reach of our prosperity; on the ability to extend opportunity to every willing heart – not out of charity, but because it is the surest route to our common good.”
Once again, he wants to extend prosperity to everybody. More socialism. The incentive for working hard is that the guy down the street gets an HDTV. Awesome. In a system like that it’s only a matter of time before everybody becomes “the guy down the street.” Why work hard if you don’t have to?
OBAMA: “With old friends and former foes, we’ll work tirelessly to lessen the nuclear threat and roll back the specter of a warming planet.”
Wow, are nuclear threats and global warming really on the same priority level? I’ll expound my thoughts on the global warming propaganda crusade another time.
OBAMA: “And to those nations like ours that enjoy relative plenty, we say we can no longer afford indifference to the suffering outside our borders…”
Is he serious? Are we really so indifferent to suffering in other countries? According to the
Very interesting comments you have on our president elected by more than 70% of the nation. All I have to say to some of your comments is give him a chance. He might actually do some good for this country. All I know is the last 8 years has not been good to the nation. - Brett
ReplyDeleteC'mon, Brett. He was only elected by 52%.
